Man Shot To Death While Sitting At Red Light In Detroit

DETROIT(WWJ) - Detroit police investigating the murder of a man who was shot in his car while sitting at a red light on the city's east side.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday near the I-94 service drive and Chalmers Street.

Police say the victim was waiting for a red light to change at the intersection when a black Chrysler Sebring pulled up next to his Cadillac and someone inside started shooting.

The victim, who was struck at least once, managed to drive a few blocks but ended up crashing into the side of the Complete Auto Care building on Hayes Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now searching for the gunman. Reports say a male and female were inside the Sebring at the time of the shooting.
