Man Recovering After Being Shot During Attempted Carjacking At Detroit Gas Station
DETROIT (WWJ) - One man was wounded in an attempted carjacking Monday morning at a gas station on Detroit's east side.
A witness tells WWJ two suspects in a car were hanging out at the Shell gas station at Harper and Cadieux for a long time before trying to rob a man of his Cadillac Escalade.
"Who cares they stay inside the car. I keep watching them, they keep watching me too. That's why. I see something happen tonight," he said.
At least five shots were fired, two striking the victim. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the victim was being targeted for his pricey SUV.
The two suspects escaped, but did not get the victim's car.
