Woman On Riding Lawnmower Killed In Crash With Oncoming Vehicle
ROSS TWP. (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a 59-year-old woman has died after the riding lawnmower she was operating was struck by a vehicle in Kalamazoo County.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday in Ross Township, about 15 miles northeast of Kalamazoo.
Investigators say Deborah Kay Smith, of Augusta, was operating the mower and went into the roadway where she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Augusta was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
