Man Killed When Dirt Bike Hits Tree In Macomb County
LENOX TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A Macomb County man was killed in a dirt bike crash over the weekend.
Police say 32-year-old Curtis Smith, Jr. of Hazel Park was riding a 2013 Honda CRF450R on private property in the 66000 block of Forest in Lenox Township when he hit a tree.
It happened at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
A witness and EMS attempted CPR on the scene, but were unsuccessful. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
Smith was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, sheriff's officials said.
It's unclear what circumstances might have led to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
