Man In Court For Assaulting Officer Hits Female Deputy At Frank Murphy Hall Of Justice

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Westland man who was to appear in court for assaulting a police officer is facing more charges after allegedly hitting a Wayne County deputy at Frank Murphy Hall of Justice on Friday.

Sheriff Benny Napolean said that Deandre Wilson, 29, walked through security at the courthouse around 9 a.m. and, after putting his coat back on, turned and punched deputy Crystal Dominguez. Dominguez was knocked unconscious and taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

 

Wilson was immediately apprehended. The courthouse was locked down after the incident, but is now back to normal operations.

Dominguez is a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff's Department. Dominguez's condition is not immediately known.
