Man Fatally Shot After Fender Bender In Home Depot Parking Lot
DETROIT (WWJ) - A 42-year-old man has been killed in an apparent road rage shooting in a Home Depot parking lot.
Detroit police say the victim and the shooter were involved in a "fender bender" crash outside the home improvement store — at Meyers Rd. and Margareta Ave., near 7 Mile Road — on the city's northwest side.
As the victim began to leave the scene, police said, the suspect pulled up alongside his car and shot him.
The victim was struck in the chest and died a short time later.
Police said, as of 11:30 a.m., the suspect was not in custody.
The shooter is described as a black male in his 30s driving a silver Chevy Silverado.
A section of Meyers Rd., south of 7 Mile, remained closed after noon as police were investigating.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
