Man Charged With Murder, Dismemberment Of Woman In Redford Apartment
REDFORD (WWJ) - A 44-year-old Redford man has been charged in the stabbing death and dismemberment of a woman with whom he shared an apartment.
The dismembered body of 46-year-old Ann Marie Gorup was discovered Tuesday night by police, who had been called to her apartment, in the 25000 block of 5 Mile Road near Telegraph, to check on her well being.
According to prosecutors, officers found blood in several rooms, along with body parts spread throughout the home.
Dexter Lamar Williams was arrested at the scene.
"It is alleged that Williams, who had been living with Ms. Gorup, killed the victim and mutilated her dead body," said Wayne County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Maria Miller, in a media release.
Williams was arraigned Thursday afternoon on one count of first degree premeditated murder and one count of mutilation of a dead body.
He faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
No possible motive for the killing has been disclosed.
