Man Charged In Chelsea Bruck's Murder Now Faces Rape Charges In Separate Case

MONROE (AP) -- A man charged in the 2014 killing of a southeastern Michigan woman has been arraigned in connection with the sexual assault of another woman.

The Monroe News reports that 27-year-old Daniel Clay was arraigned Monday on first-degree criminal sexual conduct and home invasion.

Authorities say a woman was raped in July by a man who entered a Monroe apartment.

Clay was arrested last month and jailed on a murder charge in the death of 22-year-old Chelsea Bruck of Maybee.

Bruck went missing Oct. 26, 2014, after attending a party in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township. Her Halloween costume and body were found about six months later on different days and at separate sites.

Authorities have said Clay's DNA matched DNA found on Bruck's Halloween costume.
