Mail Carrier Robbed At Gunpoint On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects involved in the robbery of a letter carrier on Thursday.

The agency says that the carrier was robbed at gunpoint while delivering mail near the intersection of Balfour St. and Southhampton St. just after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspects then fled on foot.

One of the suspects is described as an African-American male, around 16-18 years old, 5-foot-5 with a small build. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, yellow jeans with paint on them and white gym shoes.

The other suspect is also an African-American male around 16-18 years old, 5-foot-3 with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a navy blue jogging suit.
