Local Reporter Off The Hook For 2013 St. Patrick's Day Brawl

DETROIT (WWJ) - The case of an alleged assault involving a local TV reporter is closed.

There will be no charges against Fox 2 News reporter Charlie LeDuff, or the security guard he got into a scuffle with, this time last year during St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Detroit. Both accused each other of assault and filed conflicting police reports, claiming the other started the fight. The guard says he was breaking up a fight between an intoxicated LeDuff and others when the reporter attacked him. And LeDuff says the guard assaulted him first when he refused to leave a private party without his brother.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says there was not enough evidence on either side to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt.
