Lawyer Talks To Authorities About Fatal Hit-And-Run
MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A prosecutor in western Michigan says he met with a Detroit-area lawyer who shared information about a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in a group bicycle ride across the Lower Peninsula.
Muskegon County prosecutor D.J. Hilson says the sheriff's office will continue to investigate the death of 50-year-old Susan Cummings of Lake Orion. He says no charges will be immediately filed.
On Tuesday, Hilson met with attorney Brian Dailey, who says his client is full of "remorse and sorrow." Dailey hasn't publicly disclosed his client's role in the crash.
Cummings was with a large group of bicyclists riding from the Montague area to Bay City on Saturday.
She was raising money for the Hope Water Project.
There's a reward of up to $1,000.
