When you win the AL MVP award and a Cy Young award, you can pretty much attend any event you want.
When you sign a $180 million contract, you most definitely can attend any event you want.
This past weekend, Detroit Tigers' ace pitcher Justin Verlander and his girlfriend attended NBA All-Star weekend.
Excited for #nbaallstar weekend! Not excited about the cold in Toronto. It's -24!! #seriously ???? https://t.co/A1VmOeQ2NZ

Can you really complain about the cold when you choose to go to the event?

He had pretty great seats for the actual All-Star game.

Verlander also took a moment to make sure the baseball writers know that there are still 162 games to be played.
That's why the game is played between the lines! #weshallsee @detroitnews @USATODAY https://t.co/qsN4i1aFLI

USA Today picked the Detroit Tigers to finish fourth in the AL Central and finish with a 82-80 record. USA Today very well could be right but Verlander has a point as well. In all honesty, does Verlander realize that every year baseball writers pick who they think will finish first, second, third etc. every single season?
Having said that, what position do you think the Tigers will finish in the AL Central?
