Justin Verlander Blasts Fan On Twitter Who Called Him Out For Rooting For The Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have opened the season on a nice little run. The team is 3-0 for the first time since 2008-2009, the last time they made the playoffs.
Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander took notice on Twitter Friday night after the Pistons beat the Bulls in a gritty overtime game, 98-94.
#Pistons are 3-0!!!! ????????????????????????

Twitter user @MoRings42 responded, and somehow equated Verlander congratulating the Pistons for their hot start as the reason why the former Cy Young winner doesn't have a World Series ring.
@JustinVerlander This is why you'll never have a WS ring.

Verlander responded not once, but twice -- flashing his hardware in the process with some help from his brother, Ben.
You have one? https://t.co/czrWw7OjKy

@MoRings42 -- a self-proclaimed Yankees fan -- got a large response from Tigers fans on Twitter as well.
Tiger nation has come down on me

@MoRings42 @JustinVerlander Because he sends a tweet about a basketball team? That's pretty sound logic...

I'm sure this little incident won't stop Justin from supporting our local Detroit teams in the future.
