Jordan Zimmermann Jokes About Jarrod Saltalamacchia: 'He's Kind Of A Tool'

These days, athletes are very safe. They're always afraid of saying something that might get them in trouble so usually, they say nothing at all. They tend to speak in cliches and hold back what's really on their minds.
Well, I'm happy to report that two Tigers players are going against the grain. Jordan Zimmermann and Jarrod Saltalamacchia don't necessarily fill up a reporter's notebook with words that will put them on the front pages of the sports section -- but they also haven't lost their sense of humor.
And that seems like the first thing to go when athletes are playing it safe when talking to the media.
Friday afternoon, I walked up to the Tigers catcher to talk about his recent homers that he seems to hit in huge situations. I quickly caught on that Saltalamacchia was more interested in ripping Zimmermann, the new Tiger pitcher that has started the season 3-0 and has yet to allow a run.
"About one day a week, it's a grind with Zimmermann because he struggles out there at times," Saltalamacchia said and then continued to throw insults at the pitcher.
Naturally, I had to get both sides of the story and Zimmermann didn't really hold back ripping his catcher.
Listen to both players words and then decide for yourself which player had the best insult. Was it the pitcher or the catcher?
