SOUTHFIELD (CBSDetroit.com) - Apple's next big product, the so-called iWatch, is rumored to be released this fall, according to multiple media reports.
The computerized smartwatch reportedly includes more than 10 sensors to collect data, according to CBS News, and will feature a variety of screen sizes and designs.
If Apple jumps into the watch market, it would join other wearable health tracking devices including the Sony SmartBand, Samsung Slimband and Fitbit Force.
Production of the Apple smartwatch will reportedly start within three months, and will hit stores in October. Apple may have tipped off the development of the watch by including HealthKit in the release of the iOS 8 operating system. According to a release from Apple, HealthKit allows health and fitness apps to communicate with each other.
Mashable is reporting the device is being tested by high-profile athletes including Kobe Bryant.
