Indefinite Flood Warning In Effect For Clinton River

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- While there is a flood watch issued for Metro Detroit until 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening, a Flood warning has been issued for Clinton Township and the Clinton River until further notice.

According to Sterling Heights Police, the warning is to alert people who live near the river to protect their property and basements.

Officers are keeping an eye on roadways near the river and will take appropriate action should the river rise to that level, but there have not been any reported incidents yet.

If additional action is needed, police would coordinate with the emergency manager for Macomb County.
