Hillary's Odds In Michigan: She Lost The Primary, Can She Win In November

With Hillary Clinton returning to Detroit on Sunday to speak at the NAACP's Freedom Fund Dinner, the conversation about her chances of winning the Great Lakes State in the general election should she secures her party's nomination, were mixed as the "Michigan Matters" panel weighed in.

Jill Alper, strategist at Dewey Square Group and a Clinton  supporter, said the former first lady would carry the state which has voted Democratic in every presidential election since 1988.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, a card carrying member of the GOP, disputed that saying she just lost the recent primary to Bernie Sanders.

But Sander's prospects are dimming as he cut over 200 staffers this week as his losses to Clinton grow by the week.

On the other side of the aisle, Donald Trump swept all five primaries on Tuesday and inched closer to the GOP's nomination.

It would be a hard fought contest if Clinton and Trump gained their party's blessing and became the candidates to square off this fall.

Keith Owens, Senior Editor of the Michigan Chronicle, also appeared on the panel with Alper and Patterson and talked about the state continuing to vote Democratic  in general election.

Carla Walker-Miller then appeared with Cain and discussed her company, Walker Miller Energy Services, which has been growing.

Michelle Sourie Robinson, President & CEO of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, appeared to highlight a conference they are holding at Cobo Center this week to help  minority-owned business.,

Robinson, who moved to the Motor City from Atlanta a year ago, discussed her thoughts about Detroit and things taking place at multiple levels for minority owned businesses.

You can hear the conversation by watching "Michigan Matters" 11:30 Sunday only on CBS 62.
