The mystery grows after Kate seemingly deleted the photo from Instagram but we also found it on Twitter:

In a confusing and rambling debunking of the proposal GossipCop says that Verlander didn't propose ... and didn't get rejected by Kate.
Kate furthers the question of marriage or girl desperately seeking attention:
