Gunman At Large After Fatal Shooting In Pontiac

PONTIAC (WWJ) - The Oakland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting in Pontiac.

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Monday in the area of Cross and Foster streets, in a neighborhood along Baldwin Avenue just north of US-24.

Deputies were dispatched to the area after a 911 call came in reporting shots fired. Police say a second caller also contacted 911 saying that someone had been shot.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive 22-year-old man lying in the street who had obviously been shot. Deputies began administering CPR until medical personnel arrived, but there was nothing they could do to save the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several shell casings were recovered at the scene, according to police.

The gunman remains at large.

An investigation is ongoing.
