Joe Dumars, who is now known as the former GM of the Detroit Pistons, could potentially be replaced by another former Piston. Maybe Chauncey Billups? He has seemed to express interest.
But another new name emerged today by way of Marc Stein of ESPN:
Pistons vowing broad search for Joe Dumars' successor, but two names already in circulation to be on their list: Scott Perry and Grant Hill

Really? Grant Hill? That can't be right. Hill played for the Pistons from 1994-2000; he was the third overall draft pick in the 1994 by the Pistons. Dumars and Hill played together in those awful teal jerseys, but I don't see any way Tom Gores could hire Grant Hill as the GM.
Hill, who currently hosts the revamped "NBA Inside Stuff," and also anchors NBA TV's night highlight program as well as some duties with TNT -- just isn't ready to lead a team. Especially a team that needs help. Could the Pistons really want a GM who hasn't had a position in any NBA front office?
Stein also added this about Scott Perry:
Perry is the Magic exec w/deep Detroit ties who worked in Pistons' front office alongside Joe D and Sam Presti in Seattle before Orlando

I think Perry would be a much better option than Hill -- but who am I to say.
