Gerber Recalls Baby Food Pouches That Might Be Spoiled
DETROIT (WWJ) - If you have an infant or toddler, it's time to check your pantry!
Gerber Products Company is voluntarily recalling an unspecified number of its Organic pouch products after identifying a packaging defect that may result in product spoilage during transport and handling.
The recalled products include Gerber Organic 2nd Foods Pouches -- Pears, Carrots & Peas, and Gerber Organic 2nd Foods Pouches -- Carrots Apples & Mangos. Both products were sold in 3.5 ounce pouches at stores nationwide.
Consumers may notice that, in some cases, the pouches are bloated and the product inside may have an off taste or odor. Gerber has received three consumer reports of temporary gastrointestinal symptoms, however, the company has been unable to confirm that the illnesses are related to the product.
Consumers should not use the product. Instead, Gerber is offering replacement coupons for consumers who purchased the following products:

This recall does not impact any other Gerber pouches, other Gerber products or products outside of the US.
