Former Tigers First Baseman Dave Bergman Dies At Age 61
DETROIT (CBSDetroit) -- Former Detroit Tigers first baseman and member of the 1984 World Series championship team Dave Bergman has died at age 61.
Executives with the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League organization confirmed Bergman's death and said he was an "icon" in league and did everything for the kids.

Bergman spent nine seasons with the Tigers, his first coming in 1984 when he helped the team to a World Series victory. Bergman batted .273 with seven home runs and 44 RBIs that season.

He would go on to finish with a .259 average, 39 home runs and 219 RBIs in his Tigers career.
