Flint Lifts Precautionary Filtered Water Boil Advisory

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Flint officials have lifted an advisory that residents using filtered water in part of the south side of the city boil it first.

A news release sent out by city spokeswoman Kristin Moore late Saturday night said the precautionary filtered water boil has been lifted. The city had announced the advisory on Monday, saying that because of a drop in pressure in the city's water supply, bacterial contamination may have occurred.

The city said the advisory was issued only as a precaution, saying bacteria generally are not harmful.
