Firefighter Hospitalized After Battling Blaze In West Bloomfield
WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - Authorities say a firefighter is recovering at the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation while battling a blaze in West Bloomfield.
The fire broke out early Thursday morning at a home on Pinnock Avenue, just south of Commerce and Green Lake roads. Everyone inside the home was able to escape safely as crews quickly responded to the scene.
One firefighter was rushed by ambulance to Detroit Receiving Hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. He was last reported in stable condition.
A cause of the fire is unknown, but officials say they are focusing on a window air conditioning unit.
An investigation is ongoing.
