Filing False Police Report Among Charges Against 2 Former Detroit Cops

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two former Detroit Police officers will be arraigned on charges of misconduct.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says officers Steven Fultz and John McKee had claimed that they stopped a driver on in January of 2015 because they saw him throw a bag of heroin out of his car window.

But Worthy says that while investigators were working on the case, they listened to squad car audio and it revealed that the pair had been lying. Fultz and McKee are also charged with filing a false police report. Both officers have resigned.

The arraignment takes place in 36th District Court before Magistrate Dawn M. White Friday morning.
