Ferndale, Royal Oak host Memorial Day celebrations

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Monday was a day of remembrance around the country and locally. 

Memorial Day celebrations honoring the men and women who died while serving our country happened throughout Metro Detroit. 

CBS News Detroit's Gino Vicci was in Royal Oak and Ferndale as Memorial Day celebrations took place around Oakland County.

Gino Vicci was born and raised in Detroit. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rochester College with a bachelor's degree in Communications. At Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, he obtained a master's degree.
