FBI Seeks Tips To Identify Dearborn Heights Bank Robber

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - The FBI is reaching out to the public for help identify an armed man who remains at large after he robbed a Dearborn Heights bank this past summer.

According to Paul Abbate, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, the robber walked into the TCF Bank branch at 25488 Michigan Ave. at around noon on Aug. 31, 2014,  presented a handgun and demanded cash from two bank tellers.

After the tellers handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled on foot.

The suspect — seen on security images released to the media Thursday — is described as a black male, just over 6 feet tall and weighing around 225 pounds. He was wearing a striped shirt, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and sunglasses.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has any information about this case is urged not to try to apprehend the suspect, but instead to call the FBI Detroit Field Office 24 hours a day at 313-965-2323 (select option 1).
