Fatal Crash Under Investigation In Washtenaw County
WEBSTER TOWSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities are investigating a fatal crash north of Ann Arbor.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's office, it happened shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday on North Territorial Rd. at Memory Lane, west of US 23, in Webster Township.
One person was killed, according to officials.
Huron Valley Ambulance, Dexter Area Fire and Washtenaw County deputies all responded to the scene.
It's unclear what caused the crash and no details about the victim were immediately released. Sheriff's officials were expected to provide more information later in the day.
The roadway remains closed at closed between Jennings and Maple for an investigation and authorities warn it may be a lengthy closure.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area. WWJ Traffic Reporter Lorna Stevens suggests 5 Mile Rd. as an alternate route.
