Fatal Accident Involving 2 Semis Shuts Down I-75 In Monroe County

MONROE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - One person was killed when two semi trucks collided,Wednesday morning, along  I-75 in Monroe County.

According Michigan State Police, the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes near Dunbar Road.

Photos from the scene show one semi cab burned. Debris is also scattered on the freeway.

Police didn't immediately release any details about the victim and they're not yet saying what might have caused the crash.

Troopers and crash reconstruction investigators are on the scene.

I-75 was shut down at the La Plaisance exit. The southbound side is expected to be closed for at least a few hours for an accident investigation.
