Farmington Hills Woman Robbed In Her Garage After Being Followed Home
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- After a day of shopping with her infant son, a Farmington Hills woman was robbed in her own garage on Friday.
Police believe the woman may have been followed from the area of Orchard Lake Rd. and 14 Mile before she arrived at her house near 13 Mile Rd. and Halsted, parked in her garage and left the door open.
She took her 3-month-old baby inside and returned to the garage where she was allegedly confronted by a man with a bandana covering his face.
"When I went to open the garage door and stepped out into the garage, I saw a man standing in my garage to my right about two or three feet away from me," she said.
The man implied he had a gun, with his hand in his pocket, then stole the woman's wedding ring. She was not hurt, but said that she wants to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone again.
"Be aware of your surroundings when you're out and about, when you're running around and running errands, when you're going to and from work" she said. "Make sure you're checking to see when you're pulling into your neighborhood whether or not someone is following you and if you think someone is following you don't go home, go to the police station, go somewhere other than into your home by yourself."
Police will continue to investigate the incident.
