Emailed Threat Received By Michigan Tech Faculty Member

HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) - Officials at Michigan Technological University say a faculty member received a threatening email that's similar to threats emailed to people at Virginia Tech.

Michigan Tech spokeswoman Jennifer Donovan says in an email Thursday that the threat was part of the same threats made to Virginia Tech. She says the faculty member had a previous affiliation with Virginia Tech and they think that's the reason they're connected.

Dozens of people at Virginia Tech got the threatening email Monday. The head of the emergency management team at William & Mary said a similar email was sent to someone at the school. On Wednesday, WLUC-TV reported about the threat at Michigan Tech.

The source of the emails is under investigation.

In 2007, a gunman killed 32 people on Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus.
