Football fans in East Lansing will be saying this is the best report they have ever seen, while fans in Ann Arbor will say the report is bogus.
Whether you think the report is right or wrong, it is pretty interesting.
Wallethub.com came up with their rankings for the best cities for football fans and East Lansing came in fifth with a score of 46.72. Ann Arbor came in at 84th with a score of 29.52. East Lansing finished fifth in "Best Performing College Football Teams," first in "Lowest Minimum Season-Ticket Price for a College Football Game" and third in "Most Friendly and Engaged College Football Fans."
Other Michigan cities that were on the list of 245 cities were Mount Pleasant (50), Detroit (61), Kalamazoo (122) and Ypsilanti (166).
Here is how Wallethub came up with their rankings:
First, we compiled 18 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was given a value between 0 and 100, wherein 100 is the best value for that metric and 0 is the worst.
We then calculated the overall score for each city and finally ranked them using the weighted average across all metrics.
