Driver Thrown From Vehicle, Killed In Overnight Crash On I-96
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are investigating an overnight accident on Detroit's west side that left at least one driver dead at the scene.
The accident happened early Tuesday morning on eastbound I-96 at Livernois Avenue. Three vehicles were involved, two of which rolled over, but other circumstances weren't immediately clear.
One victim was ejected from their vehicle, with first responders finding a woman's body on the pavement.
The other driver's condition is unknown.
The crash remains under investigation.
The freeway was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash scene, but was reopened to traffic just before 8 a.m.
