GRASS LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A driver has died after an Amtrak train slammed into a car in southern Michigan's Jackson County.

Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand says no one aboard the westbound train was injured Wednesday. Witnesses say a loud warning signal and crossing arms were working at the time of the crash.

The car had just one person. The crash occurred in Grass Lake Township, 25 miles west of Ann Arbor.
