Detroit Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Fatally Struck 55-Year-Old Woman

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the driver of a dark-colored Grand Prix who struck and killed a 55-year-old woman on the city's west side.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Greenfield Road and Ellis Street, just north of Joy Road.

According to police, the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a black or dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix. After the collision, the driver fled the scene.

Police say the suspect's vehicle has a partial license plate of "DAA 42." The suspect is described as a black female with a smaller build, in her late 20's to early 30's.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
