Suspect in custody in connection to fatal shooting at Detroit gas station
(CBS DETROIT) - Detroit police say a suspect is in custody in connection to a triple shooting at a gas station Saturday that left one person dead and injured two others.
On Monday, May 8, at about 1:30 p.m. Detroit police released an update on the incident and said the suspect had been taken into custody.
Samuel Anthony McCray, 27, was wanted in connection to the triple shooting that happened at about 3:11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, in the Mobil gas station at 12800 W. McNichols.
He was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and three counts of felony firearm and felony in possession, according to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
In addition, he is scheduled to be arraigned on May 10.
Police say McCray fired shots, striking three adult men, fatally wounding one.
The two other men are being treated for their injuries at a local hospital.
According to the Detroit Police Department, McCray left the scene in a white Ford Expedition. He was considered to be armed and dangerous.
Police were offering a $1,000 reward for information that moved the case forward.
