Detroit Middle School Coach Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say they have charged a Detroit middle school coach with sex crimes involving six teenage students.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office said Wednesday that 28-year-old Antoine Jones has been charged with several counts of criminal sexual conduct, child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime, distributing sexually explicit matter to children and other crimes. He's expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors allege Jones engaged in "inappropriate sexual contact" with the boys he coached between November 2014 through March 2016 at A.L. Holmes Middle School. The investigation involved six males between the ages of 13 and 15, prosecutors said.

According to officials, Jones allegedly requested inappropriate photos, texts and social media messages from six boys who were on his basketball team.  It is also alleged that he had inappropriate sexual contact with several of the players he was coaching.

More detailed facts of the case will presented in court, prosecutors said.
