Detroit Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of Mother

DETROIT (AP) — Authorities have charged a 24-year-old Detroit man in the fatal stabbing of his mother at a home they shared on the city's east side.

Adam McKinnie was charged with first-degree murder and was expected to be arraigned Saturday in a Detroit-area district court.

Detroit police arrested McKinnie on Thursday, the same day the body of 46-year-old Sanguenetta Evans was found with many stab wounds. Officials say McKinnie called his father, who lives at a different home, to report that he killed his mother.

It wasn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.
