Detroit Man Charged In Deaths Of Woman, Her Missing 4-Year-Old Daughter

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A 34-year-old Detroit man has been charged in the deaths of a woman and her 4-year-old daughter who was the subject of an Amber Alert.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Marcus Hightower was arraigned Tuesday via video on two counts of first-degree murder, and one count each of felony murder, child abuse, unlawful imprisonment and arson.

Heidi Walker's body and the body of a child were discovered Saturday in a burned out vacant house in Detroit.

The Amber Alert was issued Saturday for Walker's daughter, Savannah. As of Tuesday afternoon, authorities had not announced any positive identification on the child's body found in the house.

Police have said Hightower had been dating the 39-year-old Heidi Walker and was the last person seen with Savannah.

Heidi Walker was reported missing Tuesday.
