Unsuspecting Dad Suffers Stroke Scare After Eating Pot Brownies Baked By Teen

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An Oakland County man is recovering after he unwittingly ate some marijuana-laced brownies.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies joined EMS at a home in the 7700 block of Phelan Drive — near Dixie Highway and I-75 in Independence Township — Thursday morning, on reports of a possible stroke victim.

It was later discovered that the man's 17-year-old daughter, the night before, had baked a batch of brownies laced with pot, without the knowledge of her dad, who ate several.

The man was taken to St Joseph Hospital in Pontiac for evaluation, where the remaining treats were taken to a lab for analysis.

Sheriff's officials said the teen admitted to baking the brownies, although it's unclear if she will face charges in connection with the incident.

No names were released.
