Could Cosmetic Surgery Make You More Likable? New Study Says Yes
DETROIT (WWJ) - Have you ever considered facial plastic surgery? According to a new study, it may do more than make you look younger — it may improve what people think of you.
Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. had 170 people rate pre- and post-op photos of 30 white female patients who had undergone facial plastic surgery.
Procedures included eyebrow lifts, neck lifts, face lifts and chin implants.
"What we found was that, generally speaking, the likability, sociability, femininity and attractiveness did seem improved in patients who had undergone facial rejuvenation surgery," said researcher and a reconstructive and facial plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Reilly.
Reilly said hopes this study will allow doctors to let their patients know that plastic surgery will not only make them look different...but better.
