(CBS DETROIT) - Fire crews and the U.S. Coast Guard are suspending their search for a person who went into the Detroit River early Thursday morning.

The Detroit Fire Department confirmed that multiple agencies were searching for a reported person in the water. Officials say a call came in around 4:24 a.m. Thursday of a person in the water.

DFD says the search left Detroit for a time but has since returned. The Coast Guard requested the fire department's assistance in searching the river behind the U.S. Post Office on West Fort Street.
