Clinton Township man arraigned for allegedly killing his wife
(CBS DETROIT) - A 30-year-old Michigan man accused of fatally shooting his wife was arraigned Monday.
Steven Wheeler, of Clinton Township, is charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm. The judge denied him bond.
Prosecutors allege that on Oct. 19, Wheeler got into an altercation with the victim. As she called 911 to report her husband attacking her, Wheeler allegedly shot her multiple times.
"We will seek justice for this victim and hope that those affected by domestic violence do not suffer in silence. Let us strive to create a community where every home is a safe place," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for Nov. 6.
