Cleveland Radio Host Calls Andre Drummond 'A Disgrace To The NBA' [AUDIO]
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- There has been hardly any trash talk leading into this weekend's playoff series between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers simply because people believe that LeBron & Co. will handle the Pistons with ease.
That didn't stop one Cleveland sports talk radio host from rocking the boat and going as far as to call Detroit center Andre Drummond a "disgrace to the NBA" as far as his free throw shooting is concerned.
The harsh words came on WKRK-FM from Adam "the Bull" Gerstenhaber as he discussed the upcoming series with co-host Dustin Fox and long-time Detroit radio host and Ohio native Matt Dery.
"Drummond -- as good of a player as he is -- he's a disgrace," Gerstenhaber said. "He is a disgrace to the NBA. You can't be shooting 35 percent from the line, there is no excuse for that. Shoot them underhand, do something, there's no excuse."
Dery countered, saying that if Drummond is a "disgrace" than other poor free throw shooters like DeAndre Jordan should also carry that label, which Gerstenhaber agreed with.
"No NBA player should be shooting 35 percent," Gerstenhaber reiterated. "Why won't these guys who are that bad get together with Rick Barry and shoot underhand? Do they have that much pride? They can't do it?"
If Pistons fans didn't have reason enough to get fired up for this series, they do now.
This series gets underway in Cleveland on Sunday with Game 1. Tickets to Games 3 and 4 in Auburn Hills are still available.
