Christmas Day shooting suspect arraigned, bond set to $1M
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Deandre Patrick Lawrence, 23, of Detroit was arraigned for assault with intent to murder and felony firearm, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office announced.
Lawrence is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend's current 25-year-old boyfriend multiple times after an argument, on Dec. 25.
Lawrence went to his ex-girlfriend's house to bring presents to his three children, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
While there, Lawrence allegedly got into a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend who lives at her house.
Officials say the boyfriend left the house and Lawrence followed him. The boyfriend then tripped and fell to the ground, and Lawrence allegedly shot him in the back.

Lawrence entered a not-guilty plea and his bond was set to $1 million, according to the prosecutor.
A no-contact with the victim or witnesses and GPS tether are required if the bond is posted.
Lawrence's probable cause conference is set for Jan. 4 and his preliminary examination is set for Jan. 11.
"Violent actions have no place in resolving disputes," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "Our thoughts are with the victim and his family. We will work to ensure accountability for this terrible Christmas Day shooting."
