Cat Rescue Founded By Local Musicians Has An Adorably Metal Mascot

The Internet is full of adorable cats, but none are quite as metal as Boba, the mascot of Motor Kitty Rescue, a 501(c)3 pending organization started by Detroit residents Wes Borland and wife Carré Callaway.

Boba was born missing his middle two toes on each front paw giving him the appearance of continually showing "devil horns" popular with rock music audiences. According to the description of Boba's first photo on Instagram he was rescued in the basement of an abandoned Detroit home with his mom and five siblings.

Borland is known for his time as guitarist in rap rock band Limp Bizkit and Callaway is the lead singer of indie rock band Queen Kwong. Borland has also released a solo album he produced in his Detroit home.

They also starred in a DIY network home renovation show "Sight Unseen" where they fixed up their three story home in Detroit's Arden Park-East Boston neighborhood.

The couple who married recently in Detroit moved to the city in the summer of 2015 after visiting and falling in love with the Motor City's charm.

The area's number of homeless cats has clearly not been missed by Borland and Callaway. They are steadily posting photos of their own cats, foster cats ready for adoption.

Boba has grown quite a bit since his debut on Instagram.
