Carjacking Suspect Tackled While Trying To Take Police Car [VIDEO]

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have captured a carjacking suspect after a wild chase through the San Fernando Valley that ended with the woman apparently trying to steal a patrol car.

Police say the black Toyota Tacoma pickup was reported stolen around 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Sherman Oaks.

During an hour-long chase, the pickup veered on freeways, blew through stop signs, circled shady residential streets and at one point drove over a lawn to get out of a cul de sac.

In West Hills a patrol car bumped the pickup, which spun out and stopped. A second patrol car pulled in behind.

A woman got out of the pickup, walked back to the rear cruiser with her hands raised, then suddenly ran and yanked open the driver's door before she was tackled.
