1. Ryan Miller's goaltending was the key as the USA won silver and nearly stole gold from Canada at Vancouver in 2010. It will likely be Jonathan Quick or Miller in goal for the Americans this time. Regardless the goalie who gets the nod, he will have to be as brilliant as Miller was in '10.
2. Patrick Kane is as skilled as any forward in the world. He will have to play like it for the USA to win gold.
3. The larger ice surface means more need for defensive responsibility. That means the necessity for Ryan Suter and the USA defensive corps to limit giveaways.
