Canadian Man Caught Trying To Smuggle 8 Kilograms Of Cocaine Across Ambassador Bridge

WINDSOR, Ontario (WWJ) -- Canadian border patrol agents arrested an Ontario resident after an attempt to smuggle eight kilograms of suspected cocaine into Canada across the Ambassador Bridge on Sunday.

A vehicle with two passengers -- a male driver and his son -- was referred for a secondary examination.

They declared themselves as being absent for the day, visiting family in Michigan.

During the secondary examination seven bricks of suspected cocaine, with an approximate weight of eight kilograms, were discovered in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

The driver was arrested.
