CBS DETROIT - Detroit Tigers star first baseman Miguel Cabrera may not able to participate fully in spring training, and it is still uncertain whether he will be ready for Opening Day, head athletic trainer Kevin Rand told MLB.com's Jason Beck.
Cabrera, however, appears to be in good spirits, often tweeting photos of his rehab activities. He sent out his latest batch of pictures Wednesday.
Cabrera missed only three games last season despite bone spurs in his ankle and a stress fracture in his foot. He underwent surgery shortly after the season. Going into the procedure, the Tigers had known about the bone spurs but not the stress fracture.
Even limited by the injuries in 2014, the two-time MVP turned in a batting average of .313 and smacked 25 home runs and a career-high 52 doubles.
